HWINFO64 hangs
#1
Hello,

Running Win10 Pro x64(1803)

I've never had a problem with HWINFO before, but now, with version 5.86 as well as 5.84, program gets stuck on:

Examining system configuration...
Analyzing PCI Bus

System monitor says program is taking about 12.5% CPU, no I/O.

Tried deleting ini file - same result. Same when selecting Sensors-only or Summary-only.

Default Settings, but same when Reorder GPUs is deselected.

Everything in system up to date; nothing missing in Device Manager.

End of the DBG file has (complete  file attached):

ACPI HAL PDO: \Device\00000011
ACPI HAL PDO Success
- Analyzing PCI Bus...
GetMCFG
MCFG[0] = E0000000 (0-FF)
CL init

I have one other program (xmedia recode) that appears to behave the same way (i.e. stuck at 12.5% CPU). I assume there is some connection, but I don't know how to find it.

Thanks for any advice.

Yes, xmedia recode might be experiencing the same problem - it's a problem with the GPU driver (especially OpenCL support in case of HWiNFO).
Try to upgrade the graphics driver. It that won't help try to disable the "Wake disabled GPUs" option in HWiNFO.

My graphics drivers are the latest available (I have AMD/Intel switchable graphics).

Deselecting "Wake disabled GPUs" did the trick - HWINFO works now.

Thanks.
