How to by pass windows
#1
Can I run the DOS version of HWiNFO before windows starts? If so, how?

The installed version of XP is corrupted on a machine I inherited and I want to see if the box is worth keeping. Thanks.

You'll need to create a DOS-bootable media (floppy, CD, or USB key) and put HWiNFO for DOS on it.
Then you'll need to make it boot from this media; depending on your BIOS settings, you might need to change settings there.
There are several guides on internet how to do that...

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I'll get to it and see how I get on. Thanks also for providing this resource.
