Hwinfo gadget, purple text on transparent background..
#1
Hi!

I tried choosing transparent background for the gadgets, and make a background myself. However, the text and graphs are purple and there is no settings that correspond to this. Found out this is poor developement. So please, please take measures in the next update according to this solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10890...background

One would think the developer that added the possibility for transparent background would have noticed this..

EDIT: E-mailed the developer, as I now saw that the gadget is not made by the same people.

One would think if you want help you should ask more politely......

This gadget has well over a million downloads.  Don't you think if this was a big widespread issue that could be resolved that I would have done so already?

The transparency feature was added in 2010:  http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?...page=7#163

Here is the full history for the addition:  http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=314898

If you read this, you'll see I already give you your answer, as well as address your tentative stackoverflow solution too.

Microsoft dropped support for the sidebar 5 years ago.  And then they broke it.  There is nothing I can do to resolve this issue.

You can get a close effect by using the sidebar transparency which dims the whole gadget itself.  I ran mine like this for several years:

Another option would be to just use Rainmeter instead, which is currently developed and supported.
