Suddenly requires admin
#1
In the past, I've been able to run hwinfo without elevated administrator privileges, provided that I install the Persistent Driver as admin at least once.

Now, it doesn't matter if I install the Persistent Driver, hwinfo always complains when I do not run it as admin. This must have happened within the last 4 releases or so...

Please fix.

Thanks!

This is an intentional change due to the security hardening of the kernel driver since v5.80.
Allowing access to the driver by non-administrator users was a security risk, so this possibility was removed. Besides that the entire driver was completely reworked to make it more secure and avoid potential exploiting.
