hard crashing during start
when I try to launch HWinfo64, it crashes during startup, right around the CPU bus detection.
Windows 7, 64 bit pro.
16 gigs mushkin RAM
R9 390
AMD 8320 @ 4800mhz
mushkin reactor 512gb SSD
Toshiba 2 tb Hdd
WD blue 1tb Hdd

This seems to be caused by some USB device or controller - when HWiNFO attempts to query its state the USB protocol causes a crash.
Please try to detach USB devices to see if that might help. Alternatively you might try to upgrade USB Host Controller drivers if possible or disable controllers not used.
thanks! it's working now
What have you done ?
strangely- disable drive scanning.
I started by disabling everything and working backwards. took forever. but drive scanning is what broke it.
Thanks for the feedback.
