In the past, I've been able to run hwinfo without elevated administrator privileges, provided that I install the Persistent Driver as admin at least once. Now, it doesn't matter if I install the Persistent Driver, hwinfo always complains when I do not run it as admin. This must have happened...

I recently tried this feature and found a bug: it will not work if the host PC is running hwinfo as a user. Must be elevated as admin. Hopefully that gets fixed soon!

Only once, to install the persistent driver. From then on it runs nicely in user mode.

Hello! I'd love to give this a try, but I cannot so long as the software requires administrative elevation; it cannot access the user-run hwinfo process.
