Thermal Throttling with Max Core Temps in the 50s

Does anyone have any idea why this happens? CPU temps < 60C yet thermal throttling on 6 of the 8 performance cores. Specs i9-14900K RTX 4090 ROG Strix ASUS ROG Maximus Z90 Hero 64GB DDR5 VCore Max: 1.350

Dealing with Hyperthreaded Cores in CPU Usage Stats

Hi there... I think you are confusing thread usage with "thread performance". Unsure what you mean. CPU is 8 cores, proc is hyper-threaded showing x2 cores to the OS. This is represented as T0 and T1 for each core in HWInfo (ostensibly a thread for each virtual...

Dealing with Hyperthreaded Cores in CPU Usage Stats

Hi Martin, That's correct, it is different math and purposely so. A machine with 100% usage on T0, but 0% usage on T1, will read 50% on the CPU meter. If all T0 threads are at 100%, however, chances are that the machine is, for practical purposes, running at more than 50% of it's potential...

Dealing with Hyperthreaded Cores in CPU Usage Stats

    Question if I may. I've been trying to get this one working: ((("Core 0 T0 Usage"+ "Core 1 T0 Usage"+ "Core 2 T0 Usage"+"Core 3 T0 Usage"+"Core 4 T0 Usage"+"Core 5 T0 Usage"+"Core 6 T0 Usage"+"Core 7 T0 Usage")/8) + (("Core 0 T1 Usage"+"Core 1 T1 Usage"+"Core 2 T1 Usage"+"Core 3 T1...

No Way!! o_O I was embarassed to ask for it because I thought it was asking for too much. AWESOME! Thanks!

How Does HWInfo Know It's Thermal Throttling But No GPU Temp Suggests That?

Awesome, thanks! Since that's usually the red one, I feel much better now!

Dealing with Hyperthreaded Cores in CPU Usage Stats

Somewhat related, is T0 or T1 on the core considered a "primary" thread, or do each have the exact same priority? This would make figuring out which thread is the "hyperthreaded" core somewhat moot.

Dealing with Hyperthreaded Cores in CPU Usage Stats

I have HWinfo for my PC and something called iStat Menus for the Mac. Both my Mac and PC have hyperthreaded cores, and this makes the CPU percentage reading seemingly inaccurate. For instance, with the HT cores enabled, it's pretty hard to get the total CPU reading above 50%, even when all...

How Does HWInfo Know It's Thermal Throttling But No GPU Temp Suggests That?

I have a ASUS ROG Strix 2080Ti which functions very well, yet one of the values in this series is always 'yes'. Sometimes more than one. The card is overclocked to about 2Ghz using Nvidia's own OC scanner. I used to worry about it, but I've had yet to see it do anything unexpected, and the...

FEATURE Effective clock vs instant (discrete) clock

Just trying to wrap my head around it. Are you saying that the Instant Clock reading simply looks at the multiplier, and if the core is sleeping or idle, it still reports the clock as bus x multi. For instance, if the Bus is 100 and mult 35, but the core is sleeping, the Instant Reading shows...
