I found this post as I just started having this same issue with msctf.dll gpf when trying to run HWInfo, CPU-Z or HWMonitor. Setting ShowWelcomeAndProgress=0 and SensorsOnly=1 in ini file does let HWInfo come up w/sensors. But why? MSCTF is part of text services which I don't use or change...
