    Compatible hardware for temperature monitoring

I will post a redirection to another idea, that is in the market for ages. I will announce it as old fashion automation, and this is no other than GELID 120mm Silent DC fan with sensitive thermal sensor = Gelid 120 TC. The sensor is over a long wire, sensitive temperature range 20C up to 60C, I...

MOTHERBOARD FOR MY NEEDS (AND MY SITUATION) - SUGGESTIONS?

I am not prepared for a long conversation. January 2022 I was in a way forced to upgrade at something more modern than LGA775 (high-end motherboard), and last made rich of add-on hardware and full size motherboards, was few ones for socket LGA1150. The fresher builds, they offer an empty...

HWINFO: HDD clicking, when SMART monitoring is enabled.

My last message in this topic. Its more than clear to me that complaining OP's has not enough technical background, to troubleshot the issue and to offer any usable feedback. Seagate alone, a known troublesome brand, millions of HDD failures, short life, too much noise on operation, too much...

HWINFO: HDD clicking, when SMART monitoring is enabled.

Neither my Quantum-fireball 540MB of 1994, did not use platters as temporary ROM storage.

NEW Wish list, when Tom finds some time so to invest on it. As Godfather of this idea I will name it as moving marker. The same functionality of mouse-over-graph = actual value of measurement, it could be shown at points that horizontal axis crossing with vertical axis. At my example below...

    Recommended SMART Polling Period?

This is an interesting question, and the answer, this it can not be just one. At systems with extreme HDD activity, it is recommended for them, stored data safety to be protected due RAID-1 configuration. (SMART) this is an warning indicator, and it has some value as warning at system boot...

HWINFO: HDD clicking, when SMART monitoring is enabled.

SMART this is information stored within a chip, at HDD controller, there is no need for Heads activity. Seagate has a pack of old repair tools, HDD Check along drive mechanics calibration, along HDD physical space repair. I did had recently an old Maxtor ( Maxtor branding now belong to...

With out delivery of screenshot of CrystalDiskInfo, with out mentioning exact Hard drive model (series ) brand. You are not helping so others to be able to assist you back.

HWINFO: HDD clicking, when SMART monitoring is enabled.

I am all ears of how did you do that. I am using computers since 1996, some wild made motherboards they had even the option to disable S.M.A.R.T. check at BIOS (They did that for some-sort of compatibility purposes). You better post a screenshot of CrystalDiskInfo, it might that drive to be...

Even new version has one issue, about the screenshot feature, this working properly only when Windows AERO desktop this is active. At Windows classic desktop, and or Win 7 standard desktop (64 bit), save file window it will appear within the screenshot. Tom, it is better now than before, this...

HWINFO: HDD clicking, when SMART monitoring is enabled.

I have active four WD HDD, at my system, no clicking at all. But I did disable HDD+SSD monitoring because I do not need it. OP HDD this is Seagate, and he did not even mention if this is SATA or PATA, or even his motherboard. Best Tip: disable all non important sensors, use 10000ms as...

Performance Limit - Thermal randomly triggers

Every one using HWiNFO under enormous system stress due gaming. By default HWiNFO this is going to log over 150 parameters in the unit of time (this is extreme as number). No all computer systems are equal in performance (hardware). Sudden spikes this translates that the PC cannot handle super...

Performance Limit - Thermal randomly triggers

It is wise to change hwinfo64 sampling rate to something higher than 1000ms (1 per second) , and to disable monitoring of non essential sensors. I have select only 20 sensors as active monitor, and disabled everything else, sampling 10000ms when I am testing at gaming session. . It is not...

Computer experiencing Power Reporting Deviation (accuracy) high?

Five days ago I did remove from my PC one Corsair CX750 which started suddenly to cause system reboot on gaming. The PSU was capable to boot the PC, and handle all light loads, up to 300W (external REAL power meter = Watt meter). There was no indication, that single voltage rail was in trouble...

CPU Core Temperature Measuring - Facts & Fictions

Every motherboard (brand + model) uses primarily the sensor that it is considered as highly accurate in hardware. Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H, at Gigabyte Hardware monitor (software), sensor in use the GIGABYTE Z87X-UD5H-CF (ITE IT8790E) sensor. DTS this deliver 10C higher. Now I am back to ITE...

Impact on performance of the logging feature

I am coming from the electrical test and measurement world, we do data logging, high speed = 20 measurements per second, and or calibration logging = every 10S or more. HWiNFO64 uses default sample rate once per second = 1000ms = CPU usage this is unable to be detected with a regular i7-4770...

Hi Tom, All understood. I will simply add a teaser :) Personally I will never need to use this software at a greater extend. I am now capable to compare entire system thermals, all seasons of a year (when gaming) = under max stress. I did use the filename as environmental temperature marker.

Tom, he is kind to give me access at V6.3 this is now at BETA stage, and therefore not ready yet. Feedback time: I own Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H + i7 4770 + DDR3 2400 XMP. I did inform Tom about a small bug, one specific sensor does not load when SETUP LOG VIEWER.cfg this is loaded. After...
