Frequent PC crashes on Apex Legends

Thanks for the feedback. I guess if you were to transfer the existing parts to a (new) case with at least decent airflow, it would probably work much better. Anyway, good luck with your new build. I hope you chose a different case with proper airflow where the PSU and CPU cooler don't fight...

    FEATURE Localization

I'm curious: Will HWiNFO provide an option to switch the language, e.g. back to English? Will it be possible for users to edit the language file(s) to their liking? Personally, I like when programs use some kind of text files for their languages, so any user can edit them with a (simple) text...

Does not start automatically in standard accounts

Yes, that's what it means, and if you run a simple program like Notepad you'll see that it's exactly what it does. I used that approach on several occasions so far, though I admit that the programs I've been running didn't require administrative privileges. You could try to run the Elevate tool...

Does not start automatically in standard accounts

That won't work because tasks run this way won't be shown on the user's desktop. The task is executed, and this works fine for non-interactive things, but it doesn't make sense for programs which require interaction. Actually, it's quite logical it works this way when you think about it. There...

Does not start automatically in standard accounts

It can't work that way because of the option right under the one you marked - the user the process is run as isn't logged on. You can try to change the user to "Interactive". That way it doesn't matter which user is logged on as long as it's an interactive session. Unfortunately it looks like...

    Dual Bios check

Though I don't know what "BIOS Shadow" means, I highly doubt it's the feature you're looking for. On my system it also says "Present", but it's an ASUS motherboard (and AFAIK Gigabyte is the only manufacturer to use two BIOS chips on their motherboards). Regards Dalai

PC crashed, I want to log all CPU and GPU sensor information just as crash occurs.

Open HWiNFO in sensor mode, then click the "Logging Start" button and specify a location to save the file to. Afterwards such a log can be analyzed (or rather the recorded sensor data can be put into graphs) with Generic Log Viewer. Keep in mind that hard crashes might not leave enough time for...

Frequent PC crashes on Apex Legends

That's normal. A BIOS is compiled or built at some point in time and might get published days or even weeks after that. Manufacturers usually test their software, which takes time. Although some software doesn't seem to be tested at all sometimes... It's less the size of the mainboard limiting...

Frequent PC crashes on Apex Legends

Hi. Thanks for the logs. I just checked them, and it looks like the CPU cooling is insufficient. After a few minutes running Prime95 the CPU temperature reached Tjmax (somewhere between 90 and 100°C) and it began to throttle. Admittedly, during gaming the CPU isn't under as much load as under...

Alerts should be able to run CMD, VBS, and shortcut files

Identifying sensors by name alone is ambiguous since there often are sensors with the same name but under different headings. On my system I have "CPU" under my CPU heading (Ryzen 5 2600 Enhanced) and under the motherboard (ASUS Prime X370-A). And there's another sensor named "CPU" under the...

Alerts should be able to run CMD, VBS, and shortcut files

What do you mean? What do you want to configure? Most of HWiNFO's settings are saved in the registry, HKCU\Software\HWiNFO64 (or HWiNFO32), and those independent from hardware are saved in HWiNFO64.ini (or HWiNFO32.ini) in the HWiNFO directory. Regards Dalai

Alerts should be able to run CMD, VBS, and shortcut files

I think you mean wscript.exe since cscript.exe is the command line script interpreter which would also cause window flashing. @Callistemon: When typing *.* into the File name field, the dialog allows selection of any file type. The File type drop down only contains pre-defined filters. I guess...

    CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 80c when Idle

While watching this YouTube video, I remembered that you've been having extreme CPU temperatures even at idle. In case you have a watercooler, check if the pump works correctly. If not, I suggest to act accordingly (switch to a working cooler if it can't be fixed in an easy way). Regardless...

    CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 80c when Idle

Idle temperatures above 50°C are a cause for concern. Yours are way too high! You should definitely check if the CPU cooler is mounted properly and if its fan is spinning. Since you probably need to remove the CPU cooler anyway, check if there's enough thermal paste (but not too much) between...

Frequent PC crashes on Apex Legends

@TomWoB: That's alright. There's always some performance limiting factor, either voltage, power, temperature, utilization etc. for GPUs and CPUs, or any chip for that matter. Reliability voltage means that the chip can't go any higher with its (core) voltage without risking stability. If the...

Frequent PC crashes on Apex Legends

Yes, they still look fine - after removing two additional lines from one of them which caused Generic Log Viewer to show a linear line to match the data points. You're welcome. A couple more questions: Since you have a GTX 1080, I guess it uses two PCIe power connectors. Do you use separate...

Frequent PC crashes on Apex Legends

The log doesn't show anything out of the ordinary - temps, voltages, wattages are all fine. If you suspect bad airflow as the reason, then open the case and let some big fan blow at the system, but somehow I doubt that will help (unless some temperature that's not being monitored is too high)...

    Power Reporting Deviation underperforming

    Windows 10 Defender blocking HWInfo?

Sounds like this protection feature is a bit too sensitive. Not really new when it comes to MS software, though... You're welcome. (The hint was right there in the message shown in the screenshot ;).) Regards Dalai

    Windows 10 Defender blocking HWInfo?

Check if you can add the HWiNFO executable to the whitelist of the Controlled Folder Access protection feature. See for example the screenshots in this HowTo: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/113380-how-enable-disable-controlled-folder-access-windows-10-a.html Regards Dalai
