Can't see Fan control icon in HWinfo on my AW15 Laptop

I'm not aware that GF xp updates firmware. Drivers yes, firmware either no or i dont think so. I play same old games, dota2. New drivers don't help much. Also I read software/hardware news all the time, so I'm aware when there's a new driver. To update drivers can sometimes be hassle where you...

im not too good with electronics but would you know if setting to 0rpm would cause potential fan issues? perhaps the motherboard tries to send 0.0001v or so trying to force it to 0rpm or something..

Can't see Fan control icon in HWinfo on my AW15 Laptop

so what I said above may not be 100% accurate. it does seem to 'save' and 'remember' the temp source so long as i dont go press save again. but it continues spinning even when gpu is off.... but by setting 40c (seems like the idle temperature) to 0rpm..... it may be a workaround. i'm not...

Can't see Fan control icon in HWinfo on my AW15 Laptop

I don't have to change the fan control table often or at all Problem is that, it's not behaving the way it should ill test more to confirm but heres what happens if i recall correctly hwinfo_sensors_open -> trigger_gpu_sensor(occt) -> hwinfo_fan3_customauto = as normal reboot_pc...

Can't see Fan control icon in HWinfo on my AW15 Laptop

What im trying to say is that... make it not forget the temperature source because it "disappears" from the list when its inactive. Make it -sticky- for such (optimus) devices. Since it doesn't know the GPU temperature, could it be made in a way such that when its inactive RPM should be 0.... or...

Can't see Fan control icon in HWinfo on my AW15 Laptop

OK I can now select the GPU, and the source. so Custom Auto works..... although not completely correct So anyway now... I need to get the GPU running (to do this, i use occt and run graphics stress test) before clicking on sensors. then everything from here works wonderfully. but once the...

If you look at my screenshot, the GPU is enabled because i purposely ran a game in background. I had tried to right click occt.exe (run with graphics processor: nvidia) too.. Even has a temperature of 50c.

with 2619: CPU controls - ive no problems with it as before GPU controls - custom auto. Selecting GTX970M gives 'sensor temperature reading is disabled' although as you can see in the sensors window that it's at 50c. Without custom auto well I've not tried manual actually but it wouldn't be...

Yes im able to set manual fan speed for fan3. I just can't set custom auto based on GPU temperature.. it complains about the sensor missing or something similar I forgot (when you select GPU: NVIDIA GTX980M)

Disabling EC support gives me FAN1 and FAN3 to control. I can't set the sensor for FAN3 if i wish to use custom Auto. I wanted to set that to the nvidia card. I also can't see fan rpm after that. Enabling EC support allows custom auto for FAN1 only. I can sett CPU fan rpm with this but not GPU.
