Monitor CPU and GPU fan RPM on Clevo laptops

I'm not sure how you've set up the code, so this might not be that simple, but if you're already special-casing on the model number then it should be safe to assume these specific models contain a fan? Probably not worth it if that's a lot of work.

Monitor CPU and GPU fan RPM on Clevo laptops

Huh. I just checked, and you're right: the fan wasn't spinning. Turns out the sound I've been hearing was the HDD. I've never owned a laptop with a fan that doesn't spin *at all*. This is pretty cool :) Anyway, HWiNFO appears to work as expected. Thanks! Suggestion: it might be useful...

Monitor CPU and GPU fan RPM on Clevo laptops

I just tried v4.63-2515 beta. It warns me about the EC sensor, and shows the "Clevo EC: Notebook W230SS" section, but the section is empty.

Monitor CPU and GPU fan RPM on Clevo laptops

Thanks, I must've skimmed over the post mentioning RWEverything. The W230SS is a single-fan model. D0/D1 show 0770-0775 while idling on automatic fan and around 01E5 on maximum - I'm not certain what RPM these represent, but the calculation method in the first post gives reasonable results...

Monitor CPU and GPU fan RPM on Clevo laptops

Hi, Could you enable fan monitoring for the W230SS? I'm hoping the offsets/method are the same. I'm also wondering - how do you discover these offsets? In case these are the wrong ones, I'd love to try to find the correct ones, but I have no idea how! Report and debug files attached...

    Touchpad freezes on HWiNFO64 launch

This version works perfectly! Both the 32-bit and 64-bit builds launched ten times in a row without any issues whatsoever. Thanks! Looks like the Synaptics driver version 16.3.9.0 isn't available on their own website yet, which is odd. I wonder where that other site got it from. Well, I guess...

    Touchpad freezes on HWiNFO64 launch

Well, they don't appear to have released anything newer than 16.3.8.8 yet. And I've just had my touchpad freeze even with the majority of the 0x5n row checked.

    Touchpad freezes on HWiNFO64 launch

v16.3.8.8 seems to be available for download from Synaptics' website. However, OEMs tend to lag by a fair bit, so I'll probably have to wait for a while. Hopefully HP picks it up soon.

    Touchpad freezes on HWiNFO64 launch

Thanks for the info. HP's latest driver for this model is 16.2.10.12, from 2012-09-07. Looks like I'll have to bug them about it... or install the Synaptics version and hope it doesn't break anything (it did in a previous HP laptop...). I'll get back to you with the results, hopefully...

    Touchpad freezes on HWiNFO64 launch

Here's the current settings: If I untick the first (two) or last (two) in the 0x5n row, then the issue occurs intermittently. (If I untick all, the issue occurs every time I've tried.) I'm currently only accepting it as 'working' if it works ten times. I'll try some more when I have more...

    Touchpad freezes on HWiNFO64 launch

I had the same problem with a HP Envy M6-1117tx running Windows 8 x64. It seems to work with 0x50-0x57 ticked (I left the default 0x0n row and 0x69 ticked). I'll try to isolate it more later, though there seems to be multiple that can cause it, and it's somewhat intermittent if they aren't all...
