Alerting Settings

Was wondering if anyone could explain in a little more detail the meaning behind "notification distance" and "samples to trigger alarm"? I would like if possible to configure some temperature alerts, but would prefer the alerts only trigger after the reading has been present for a few seconds. For example if a CPU core hits 80c and than rapidly drops back down to 75c I would prefer it not alert. However if a CPU core hits 80c and remains there for say 5 seconds it than triggers an alert. Was wondering if the above settings can be used to achieve that.

Thanks!

"notification distance" sets the minimum require time between two subsequent alarms.
"samples to trigger alarm" specifies the number of samples exceeding threshold required to trigger alarm. So if for example your refresh period is 1 second and you want to wait 5 seconds for triggering the alarm, set this parameter to 5.
