I have an almost 10-year-old Intel PC. I don't have the funds to upgrade / replace anything at this juncture in my life...
I am absolutely horrified and disgusted with the increasing invasiveness of the post-social media world. I am in my mid 40s, with major vision problems, and I've lost all my abilities of PC building/Troubleshooting I of my younger life.
Long story short: I am concerned my BIOS has been compromised. I started noticing increased stalking like activity by numerous entities posing as old friends of mine from the mid 90s. This of course has led me to reinstall Windows a few times, hoping to fix any security issues created by User Error.
Unfortunately, the stalking has only drastically increased, leaving me no choice but to try my best to refrain from "socializing" online. Given the kind of person I am, I almost always put my full trust in every new old and unknown person I encounter in life.
I apologize here for rambling...
HWiNFO's shows a concerning SMIBIOS entry. While back, I got on Twitter temporarily looking for help identifying this entry as a possible sign of BIOS breach. I forget who it was, but it was an old BADUSB researcher I remember hearing about many years ago. To my surprise, this person responding to my question almost immediately... Saying he has seen this particular entry on "Asus Laptops". My PC=Intel Z370 (Kaby Lake) custom build tower PC (Asrock Mobo). Not helpful in the slightest, and deeply concerning in the highest.
