HDD S.M.A.R.T. Lifetime writes show ridiculous number

Hello, this is my first post here and I don't really know if this is the right place to ask for clarification

HWiNFO v7.06-4500 is showing ridiculous amount of lifetime writes to HDD and I need a sane check

Is this a bug of the S.M.A.R.T. function or is it somehow compromised?

HDDSentinel shows no lifetime write data for it but it shows for the other HDD in the system

Yes, this doesn't seem right and will probably need adjustment, but I'd need to see the HWiNFO Debug File with further details.
What value does CrystalDiskInfo show?

Looks like no one is able to properly report the total host reads/writes as encoding of this information is not standardized and disclosed by vendor.
I'm afraid currently I don't know how to fix this.

This is probably the number of sectors. WD should use 512 Byte units for each sector; although today's disks use 4K internally, this particular HDD is a 512e HDD.
If we multiply the number above with 512 we get 25,225,949,190,144 Bytes, which is roughly 23,493 GiB (or 22 TiB). Sounds plausible given the 38,396 GiB Total Host Reads shown in the OP, and if applying the same calculation to the Total Host Reads, we get the same result as HWiNFO.

But you're right that it's not standardized, and other vendors such as Seagate and Toshiba might use different metrics.

That sounds plausible if the Total Host Reads value would be correct. But I believe this not correct here either.

Considering the Power-On Hours of 16039, which is 668 days (or 1.83 years), it's perfectly possible to transfer this much data in that time frame. Maybe there are large files on it like games and such?
