HWiNFO randomly forgets sensor window size/position

I've had this problem for a while (somewhere in 2021-2022 iirc). HWiNFO would forget my sensor window size (and position) settings at times. When it happens, the sensor window size is shrinked to the size as if there is only 1 column of sensor (but my setup is 2 columns), better illustrated in below images:

This is my normal setup

But when the bug occur, the window size is shrinked as following (roughly the size of 1 sensor column / the left side in my normal config window)

The window position is also reset to locate right in middle of screen (vertically + horizontally, excluding taskbar)

I have tried many things, with workarounds suggested in HWINFO does not retain window setting and ALWAYS forgetting window position threads but to no avail. Here are things that I've tried:
  • Setup window size + position and close using X button
  • Toggling options
    • Snap Window Edges
    • Validate Window Positions
  • Use the fresh settings of HWiNFO64:
    • Use default (non-customized) layout of sensors
    • Use default preferences settings
    • Use default font
  • Configure in HWiNFO64 in Task Scheduler:
    • Set startup delay of 30 seconds
    • Change startup trigger from "At log on" to "On workstation unlock"
  • Fresh re-install HWiNFO64 (uninstalled using BCUninstaller)
  • Fresh re-install Windows (format drive + install)
  • I even switched to another laptop but the issue still persists : D

The settings I mentioned only worked for a while (could be snake oil) and then the bug occured again. I think it's time to report and work out to resolve this issue once and for all : P

Does your screen resolution maybe change during runtime or you switch monitors?
Pardon me, I forgot to add some details. I use 1 monitor only. Scaling is always at 125% (previously at 150%, this issue occured in both cases). The scaling is likely the determining factor as it's always above 100% across my setups. Currently my Windows text size is 110%, but I still encountered the issue before setting it to 110%.

Scaling should not be an issue. But if the problem happens when HWiNFO is configured to automatically start with Windows, I suspect some screen parameters might change during startup.

Yup, it happens randomly at boot and I configured Auto Start too. Do you have any suggestions for narrowing down the issue?

I don't have any application related to screen parameters at startup (closest ones in my setup are screenshot apps -- Greenshot previously and now ShareX). I also have TranslucentTB at startup. It's visually-related, but it only changes taskbar appearance so I don't think it could change screen parameters, could it?

Hmm, it's quite possible that some of those apps affects it. Try to run without them to see if that's the case.

I'll try and let you know :D But not as with TranslucentTB, I cannot really turn ShareX off without affecting my workflow. Is turning ShareX autostart off - check if HWiNFO window position at startup - manually start ShareX later good enough?

I have tried turning off both during boot, but the bug still occurs every now and then. I can confirm the 2 programs don't interfere with HWiNFO.

Later I had to reset Windows to fix another issue, meanwhile also did a major overhaul to my other apps' configuration. HWiNFO doesn't seem to exhibit the same error anymore. I will update if the error occurs again.

It's probably related to the AMD GPU driver. I have the same issue, sometimes at boot the window size does the same thing as it does on your machine.
