Logging - write direct to disk not working?

So it seems the "Write direct to disk" option for logging doesn't actually work? it works for the first minute on two, and after that it only updates the file when I open and close it (tried with notepad++, excel). Have checked for over an hour and the file still does not update on disk. I am checking the "last modified" field on windows explorer. using HWiNFO 64 v8.12-5555. Am I missing some option toggle or...?

Meaning of that option is a bit different - it should prevent Windows from buffering the file so, that when a crash happens, the content will be written to disk and not lost in memory buffers.
I think your problem is that the applications you use don't properly refresh the file or open it for write access too, which prevents proper updates.

Hey, thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately I don't use any program - just start logging, leave the explorer open in the folder with the logging file, go away for an hour or so, come back and refresh the explorer. A this stage the "last modified" field does not show any change (and the size of the file is the same as I left it, a few kb's). The file seems to only update on the disk as soon as I access it...I thought it would be written at some interval as I'm trying to debug a BSOD in some games...
