PCIe bus frequency on Intel G41?

Is it indeed impossible to see the PCIe bus speed on the G41 chipset?

If it's decoupled from bus block then I don't think there are any means for software to determine it's clock.

On the G41 specifically, or also other chipsets?
Is it that there's no way at all to get it from the MCH (or the clock generator), or that it's inaccessible once Windows is running?

On most systems. Only some later Intel CPUs support custom PCIe ratios, so in that case it can be determined.
Directly accessing the Clock Generator is a complicated method and due to the way how those chips are designed doing this might also result in issues and system instability.
