Reading sensors

Hello, I just built my first PC, so I'm totally new to system monitoring. In my search for the best application to use, I stumbled across Hwinfo. It is very detailed and all, but I'm having a hard time knowing what everything means. So I was wondering if there is some type of guide that I can use to educate myself in how to read everything, regarding CPU/GPU speeds and temperatures. And what exactly should I be looking for, as in what temperatures are ideal. I'm sorry for the dumb question but I haven't been able to find it in Google so my last resort is asking in this thread. Thanks for your time.

This is a very large topic and I'm sorry, I don't know of a single guide that would answer your questions.
Maybe try to check some overclocking forums (e.g. overclock.net).
Maybe someone else here can give you a better guiding.
