Reset to device, \Device\RaidPortXX, was issued

I have lots of NVME/Sata Enclosures

Most are fine when starting HWiNFO but the bottom two chipsets
when starting with Ata Statistics Support enabled i get Reset to device, \Device\RaidPortXX, was issued.

I realise its the firmware not happy with a command HWiNFO sends and should be fixed by ASMEDIA
but lets be realistic this isnt going to happen unless you have contacts with them..

Is there anything that you can do at your end to not probe said controllers with whatever they are getting upset about?

Im willing to test builds and such for you / give any info you require etc..

ASM2364 USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Nvme Enclosure x 6 (AS_PCIE_210901_91_00_00) = Fine

JMS583 USB 3.2 Gen2x1 Nvme Enclosure x 1 (JMS583-STD-Release-v00.02.01.04) = Fine

RTL9210B USB 3.2 Gen2x1 Nvme Enclosure x 4 (RTL9210B_v1.33.44.011824) = Fine

JMS576 USB 3.x Gen1 2.5" Sata Enclosure x 2 (No Trim) (JMS576 01.02.01.04) = Fine

RTL9201R USB 3.x Gen1 2.5" Sata Enclosure x 8 (Trim) (RTL9201R_v1.32.77.112522) = Fine

Orico PWM2 NGFF Sata Enclosure
ASM105X USB 3.x Gen1 M.2 Sata Enclosure x 1 (Trim) (asm_fw_171120_D1_1E_00) = Reset to device
(HWinfo says its a ASM1051 by the pid but i think its an ASM225CM its a bit hard to get to the chip to see)

UGREEN 50743 2.5" Sata Enclosure
ASM235CM USB 3.2 Gen2x1 2.5" Sata Enclosure x 5 (Trim) (171120_D1_1E_80) = Reset to device
(Tried Firmware upto the latest 220906_D1_15_C5 / 220906_D1_45_01 and everything inbetween)

Please attach the HWiNFO Debug File so I can see the details and add a respective exclusion.

I have named each device by the drive installed in the enclosure
(it did it untouched also..)

5 x ASM235CM
Device Manufacturer: ADATA (Default Ugreen)
Product Name: ADATA SU800 1TB (Default Ugreen Storage Device)
Serial Number: Set to pull actual SSD SN instead of Ugreen's random SN
Hardware ID: USB\VID_174C&PID_235C (Untouched)

1x Orico PWM2 NGFF
Device Manufacturer: ASMT (Untouched)
Product Name: ASMT105x (Untouched)
Hardware ID: USB\VID_174C&PID_55AA (Untouched)

I have just noticed its doing it with
Ata Statistics Support and Smart Support
buts its much slower with Ata Statistics support (about 5 mins to start with all 6 drives plugged in)

MY guess with RTL9201R R for really really cheap, is that its actually an RTL9210B that's delib slowed down for market segmentation

Hi martin

1x Orico PWM2 NGFF
Device Manufacturer: ASMT (Untouched)
Product Name: ASMT105x (Untouched)
Hardware ID: USB\VID_174C&PID_55AA (Untouched)

Is still doing it
I have dumped its firmware now and have confirmed what i suspected
its an ASM225CM which is an ASM2235(ASM235CM) locked to Gen1) (see image)

I had 8 RTL 9201R's turn up the other day
when i have 1 plugged in i get no problems as i confirmed the other day
when i had 8 plugged there was problems when starting up hwinfo

I just noticed you have added Info for 13FE 2364 Phison Electronics ASMedia ASM2364 nice

Phison PU31 = 13FE 2570 (JMicron JMS583)
Phison PU31-Pro = 13FE 2364 (ASMedia ASM2364)
ASMedia ASM2364 = 174C 2364

I have dug out my 10 Port USB Hub's to make it easier to test in bulk

will update this as i test more devices

Thanks for the feedback!
To make the analysis easier, could you please attach a HWiNFO Debug File with just the problematic devices connected?

Thanks!
RT9201R will be fixed in the next build.
But I'm not sure what's still causing a problem on those ASM devices. Does disabling "ATA Statistics Support" solve the problem here?

Hi my Warranty replacement 14900KS just arrived to replace my 13900K (intel are refunding me and im paying the extra £100..)
so the pc is in bits for a fair while messing and tweaking it
will check in about a day if thats ok

Just tried 8.10 and 8.11-5526

I plugged one of each device in and tested one at a time

ASM235CM
Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort18, was issued.

RTL9201R
Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort19, was issued.

ASM225CM USB\VID_174C&PID_55AA
Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort20, was issued.
