Ryzen 9 5900x 125°C?

New Member

I just installed my new 5900x, which is watercooled by my Corsair iCue H150i RGB Pro XT. After Benchmarking and Gaming with every CPU temperature maxing at 60-75°C (79°C was the highest value after 4 Timespy runs), I witnessed a maximum die/ average temperature of 125°C after Halo Infinite crashed. Other values were normal (again 60-75°C), just the maximum die/ average temperature showed a red 125°C.
There was no throttling, coolant temperature was low, no system crash or anything. Windows was responsive and fast, just Halo did crash.
There are no reported hardware errors in Windows neither.

Is this weird value possible or a wrong read/ calculation?
I'm just concerned my new CPU got fried without a noticable reason.
Same as this?
