Timeframe for average battery estimated time remaining

Hi, I'm wondering what timeframe hwinfo uses to calculate the average estimated time remaining. Like, if it's an average from when it starts tracking like for some sensors, then it'll be useless because it would say 50% when it's at 0%. Presumably, they thought about this when creating the program, but I just want to know so I can decide between displaying average or current. I'd prefer a smoothed out average over a timeframe of a few minutes or whatever. Thanks.

Well, it came back randomly. Any ideas about what could have caused the temporary absence so I can fix it? Presumably, it would be a bios or chipset firmware thing?

Also, it displays some absurd amount when it's plugged in so I'd like to hide it if over a certain value. does that functionality exist?

Sorry for the thousand questions, I'm just a super perfectionist and feel uncomfortable if things aren't behaving how I intend.

Those are questions for the laptop manufacturer, it's fully in hands of their firmware/battery management controller.
