    There is no such version. There is 5603, released a year ago, and 5806, released in November 2020. Now I have 5851 with 5900X, no fan problem.

    odi03zqewxt thanks for clarification, so it's not a new issue, it is the old one. BTW disabling AsusWMI will lead to using direct EC access in HWinfo that is even more problematic on the board. That gave me several sudden reboots in a few days.

    What processor do you use now? Did you use BIOS versions prior to 5809, i.e. 5603?

    So in fact software which uses ASUS WMI only could trigger some problems because it calls (potentially buggy) BIOS method. Without running the software it's not triggered because (potentially buggy) BIOS method is not called at all. BTW I never had stability problems with ASUS WMI for 10 months...

    I've never experienced fan shutting bug with ASUS WMI. But I did experience sudden reboots, "fan @100% bug" with software using direct access to SIO chip (HWiNFO with ASUSWMI=0, GPU-Z, MSI Afterburner, etc). As I understand ASUS WMI is safe in the sense.

    I have good news for ASUS Prime X470-Pro owners: BIOS 5603 does contain the fix for ASUS WMI, now CPU_OPT and Chipset temperature are properly reported. Tested with Ryzen 7 3700X.

    OK, thank you, Martin. One more reason which confuses is the header of the buffer - "ASUSSENSOR01". It suggests there could be 02, 03, etc. But in fact there is no other buffer.
