Auto launching when it shouldn't, Slow startup at boot and crashing

Microsoft Security Essentials icon was missing, too. I'll have to try "System Explorer". I wonder if "Classic Shell" is interfering in any way?

Auto launching when it shouldn't, Slow startup at boot and crashing

Just booted up my Corei3 Sandy Bridge. No HWInfo tray icon though the process was running. Ended the process & restarted. I've seen this happen once before. Maybe need to check "Persistent Driver"?

Auto launching when it shouldn't, Slow startup at boot and crashing

So, I'm not the only one! Exactly the same for me. Using latest released version. No crash. Not a terribly fast machine, i.e. Pentium-D desktop with WinXP-Pro. Not as noticeable on Corei3 laptop with Win7-64.

    Startup

I, too, have noticed that "Analyzing Devices" has gotten a lot slower, especially when "Auto Start" is enabled. After Windows has completed loading, if quit & run again, it's a lot faster, but still takes some time to "Analyzing Devices". Hardware has not changed in several years.

    Tray Icon

Am running latest released version of HWInfo64 (v4.22) Right clicking on tray icon does not show all of these: Show All Sensors Summary Configure Quit Only shows: Configure, Quit After checking & unchecking settings in "Configure" (General/UI), quiting & then returning them to the...

Is PCIe speed measured or hoped for ?

X1 card will do the job for USB 3.0. Resesas chips seem to work the best. I've tried AMD/Intel onboard 3.0 chip & it's a lot slower than my X1 card. Real world transfer rates to USB 3.0 HDD is about 100MB/sec to a Resesas onboard controller; X1 add-on card is a bit slower. 3.0 is about 2-3...

    Sensor window redesign

Trying Betax64 4.19-1950 ACPI: CPU & Fan2 http://www.hwinfo.com/forum/Thread-HP-Fan-Control See my post #10 & your answer #11. It's back again, 964rpm instead of 0rpm. Fan reading at bottom is 0rpm. It's a laptop, there is only 1 fan. 0 rpm is the correct reading at the time of the...

    Sensor window redesign

    2. I thought I clicked somewhere else & it changed everything back. I must be mistaken, sorry. Is there no way to change the name of Groups, some of them are very long, i.e. graphics card: [GPU[#0}; nVIDIA GeForde GT620; nVidia Internal] Now I just say, don't show. If I change back to...

    Sensor window redesign

Layout Observations 1. It appears all settings are saved to Registry, correct? 2. If "Reset Values", all layout is lost. Need to use "Restore Original Order" on Layout tab. Reset Values is a global reset? 3. Not possible to move adjacent items up/down as a group, i.e. move voltages...

    Sensor window redesign

I use it to primarily monitor temps & fan rpm's, so "by type" would suit me. OS's are WinXP & Win7-64. WinXP is dual-monitors, Win7 is laptop with EC. The 1 most important sensor, I display in the tray, i.e. CPU temp on one machine, fan rpm on the other (EC app monitors cpu temp)...

Add ability to re-order the readings.

Exactly, especially with newer monitor aspect ratio. I've had to hide a number of values & it's still too tall for 16x9 monitor. Will probably hide more I never use. 1. Make bottom menu smaller (Reset Values, etc.) 2. Move "Up Time" from bottom of menu area to right of Temperature (left of...

Is there a way to remove welcome screen?

This file is no longer part of the HWiNFO package (to reduce the footprint). It's available on-line from the News section. Minor typos: http://www.hwinfo.com/History32.txt http://www.hwinfo.com/History64.txt ============================== Version 4.12 ==================================...

Is there a way to remove welcome screen?

How to re-enable it to access system summary, etc? Edit HWInfo32.ini file? MinimalizeMainWnd=1 Set MinimalizeMainWnd=0 ?? BTW, I see that History.TXT file is no longer being updated when EXE file is installed. Is this because I don't overwrite INI file? I also see that if 2 boxes are not...

Fan speed monitoring not available in HP Elitebook 8470p

My HP Probook does this from time to time. Disconnect power cord, remove battery, hold down power button for 30 sec. Reinstall battery & connect power cord. Should start normally. Has worked for me every time. As to what the cause is, I don't know. This fan controller works for me, don't...

    System hang when lauching Hwinfo64

This has been happening to me, too. I read your known issues regarding: 5. Missing disk, SMART and drive temperature information on Intel RST 11.5 drivers. Description: Using Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver v11.5 or Enterprise RST driver will probably cause loss of disk...

Is it possible to have a single executable for HWiNFO64 & HWiNFO32 Packages? Not sure if this would be feasible with your application.

    Incorrect version of PCIe 16x

This is very strange, now it is displaying correctly after cold boot. BTW, here's a different one from a laptop that shows the BIOS version as Compaq instead of HP. Both are listed in report. BIOS Manufacturer: Compaq BIOS Vendor: Hewlett-Packard Reports for both computers are attached.
