ASUS EC & Benchmarking

Hi all. I'm just wondering if it's safe to use benchmarking software like realbench or cinebench while I have EC mode on in hwinfo64. I just want to see how high my VRMs are getting under load. Idle @ 44c. My board is a maximus x formula and has a cover over the vrms for custom watercooling that I don't have yet. Currently on an AIO but I'm having cooling issues with that as well. 8700k runs hot =\. It's only at 4.4ghz 1.25v with the TDP and SVID controls set to AUTO still so it throttles under load and still hits 80c. Not sure if that's relevant. Admittedly there isn't enough air flow in direct contact with them so I'm a little worried i'm going to burn them out. Anyways, I just want to make sure it's safe and I won't crash my PC. Thanks in advance.

Generally, it should be safe to access this sensor while benchmarking.
There were some systems affected in the past that could cause some performance overhead or stability issues, but I haven't seen such issue for quite a long time.
