How to recover EC sensors

When first activating HWInfo64 sensors, it warned me of EC sensors so I clicked disable. However this disabled monitoring of my CPU and GPU fans so I want to re-enable this again. I go to main settings -> safety -> EC support, however this is already checked and doesn't appear to do anything.

How can I reset the safety warning and get my fans back?

that didn't work unfortunately. nothing happened when i pressed Ins. how can I do a full reset of the program and all settings? even if I download a new version it still seems to know what the previous settings are. I wand to do a full reset, and this time I'll allow EC sensors
