Thanks for create this software, very useful.
I am doing a academic study about hardware and I would like to know:
What is the source of hwinfo database (for the hardware parts)?
Is this open? Can be shared with me?

There are many different sources for each kind of hardware component and there's no single database for all items. Many components require specific support and handling.
HWiNFO's databases are not open, but you might check the internet for some free databases especially for PCI IDs.

Actually, I dont need the "machine codes"for each part, I only need the model/version X description/characteristics.

I searched for PCI IDs and looks like more focused in machine codes X model than model/version X description/characteristics.
