Hi,

I just tried this newest Beta on my ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F and still can't get it to start.
Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, Windows 10 64-Bit.

The loading screen is stuck at "Detecting CPU#11"

The .DBG file ends with the following (both with the 64 and 32 bit version of hwinfo)

Code:
ASUS WMI
ASUS WMI - Method 1 Get error 80041002
ASUS WMI - Method 2 Get error 80041002
ASUS WMI - Method 3 Get error 80041002
ASUS WMI - Method 7 Get error 80041002
ASUS WMI - Method 8 Get error 80041002
ASUS WMI - Method 9 Get error 80041002
ASUS WMI VER

Let me know if I can help to debug this.

This is caused by a bug in the ASUS BIOS.
Try to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version. If that won't help, insert the following line at the end of the HWiNFO64.INI file:
AsusWMI=0

I have already installed the newest BIOS (Version 1001) but with AsusWMI=0 the program starts just fine. Thank you very much! :)

But I think I might have found a new issue:
I have my old 2.5" SSD connected via a SATA USB case. The drive is Bitlocker encrypted and not mounted (still encrypted) and hwinfo is stuck at reading the SMART values.
Without the drive hwinfo starts just fine.

Here's the last debug info

Code:
SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series [?:]
[PhDr2] SPT_ATA SMART Enable - OK
[PhDr2] SPT_ATA SMART Get Thld -

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm not able to exactly determine why it happens nor how to fix this.
Strange about that drive is that it appears as if it would be connected to the NVMe controller (as the 970 one), which is not true. It responds to some commands, however the last SMART query fails and remains stuck in the driver. If you mount the drive, will HWiNFO start?
Perhaps trying to upgrade its storage driver might help..

The issue seems to be the SATA-USB adapter.

The problem also occured when I unlocked the SSD with bitlocker. So I also tested a different drive (not formatted) with the SATA-USB adapter and the same problem occured.

The adapter identifies as JM20336 sata usb combo and was included in an older external 2,5" HD case. For normal use it works just fine with automatically installed Windows 10 drivers, but I guess there's a problem with reading the SMART values.
