I set up HWiNFO, and when I selected logging, I wasn't asked where to save the file. I had to uninstall and reinstall it to install the new version. Where are my log files?
HWiNFO should always ask where to store the sensor log file when you press the Start Logging button.
So I'm wondering which option/button have you used?
