Question about sensor not reading voltage

Hello. I was wondering if someone could please help me understand if this is normal or not. I have an intel system running on an ASUS p8z77-v motherboard. I'm monitoring the voltage graphs and a few other things from the motherboard sensor section. On occasion the voltage will not read. I will see a blank spot in the graph. It happens maybe once or twice every 15 minutes or so. It can go for a long time without ever happening though.

The question that I had was whether or not this is normal and just a fail to read or if this is cause for concern. The system doesn't seem unstable and nothing happens when these readings are lost. No glitching or shutdown or any kind of anomalies. So I'm not sure if it's ACTUALLY losing voltage or if it's just a sensor hardware or some software issue.

Also, AI Suite (ASUS software) is running in the tray and it will report zero volts on occasion as well but these reports don't typically line up with hwinfo's voltage reading drops. Also, this software is amazing lol. Thank you for making it.

It could be a conflict between HWiNFO and AI Suite when they both run at the same time or a faulty sensor.

Hey thanks for the response. I could try disabling AI Suite and see if that affects anything. I think that some part of the motherboard sensing hardware is probably acting up though. It gives other odd readings like the motherboard's CPU reading jumping 5 to 7 C in one tick and then back down again. I know the CPU isn't actually heating and cooling in 250ms. It also has ghost sensors show up and then be greyed out. Things like AUXIN4 or w/e which aren't there when hwInfo is started.

I guess the answer to the question though is "no it's not normal to lose readings" and I should be looking for an issue somewhere. Pretty sure it's just the readings though and not the actual voltage or I would imagine that the system would destabilize.

Thank you again.

Disabling the AI Suite is not a simple task because just not starting the application is not enough as there can be multiple services running in the background still accessing those sensors.

I'm aware of the services. They are controlling my fans right now. If they are what's causing the reading interference then there's not much I can do other than just watch the readings in AI Suite without hwinfo running and see if they alarm. That would at lease rule out software interference. I guess I could hook up an external data logger too and record the voltage if I wanted to confirm things.

I have just recently discussed this problem with ASUS and they understand the need solve this collision problem.
They agreed to implement synchronization techniques that should avoid such collisions in future AI Suite release(s), so make sure to watch out for updates here.
