THAT is the one I installed - so I expect it to be v8.1. If you can tell me that what I have is NOT v8.1, then I can uninstall what I have and re-install v8.1
Sorry - I can now see that what opens is v7.1 - so I will do as stated above.
Download the portable package and copy the latest HWiNFO32 into the folder where HWiNFO32 v7.1 is installed (that's by default "C:\Program Files\HWiNFO32").
I can see the summary showing full now, isn't it? This screen is always wide (portrait), which shouldn't be a problem unless you're using a very low resolution like 800x600
If you tell me it shows what it should show - I will be satisfied with that. However, the usual resizing tools are missing from the top right corner. And the v7.1 window suggested that there was more content UNDER what shows on the left in the v8.1 display.
It shows everything it should, there's nothing hidden. If there would be more items to show (e.g. clock points or drives), the window would automatically resize itself.
A separate point. My interest in HWINFO is that Google said it could show what slots my mobo has and what they are used for. If I place a tick for NEITHER 'Sensors Only' or 'Summary Only' then click START, one of the windows that opens is shown in the image.
'motherboard' lists two PCI and six PCIe slots (eight in all) - but I can count only 7 slots on the board. That discrepancy concerns me.
Also, where would I find the information about what the slots are used for ?
Reporting of slots present depend on the BIOS, sometimes it might not provide accurate information. You might also check under "Motherboard -> SMBIOS DMI"
