Hallo Martin,

on my 8530p i see that fan speed is depended on this "External 1" sensor
What is monitoring this sensor? (CPU, GPU...)

Many Thanks

Hard to say that, usually the "Motherboard" temperature is the temperature of the sensor chip itself placed on the mainboard. The External temperature means that it's external to the sensor chip and in reality can be placed anywhere on the mainboard. Only the mainboard manufacturer really knows where the temperature sensing diode is really placed.

Thanks for your answer,
i replaced thermal grease on my laptop's cpu (cpu only)
and this lowered temperature measured by this "External 1" sensor
and therefore, i thought is CPU related...

Many Thanks
