Hi, I have just replaced a 3 year old laptop battery with a new replacement. The two batteries are from different manufacturers, but info under the battery tab is showing the same manufacturer, serial number, and unique ID details for different batteries...and even the same design capacity, full charged capacity and wear level (which also clearly can't be the same) - is there a problem with the software. or is there a way to 'refresh' or remove previous scan results. Any help or info will be appreciated, thanks.

HWiNFO only shows information that it receives from the system. So the problem is in the notebook firmware that doesn't seem to properly handle the new battery.
You might try a full power off cycle - shut down the machine, remove the power cord and battery, wait a few minutes and then start again. If that won't help, then you will need to contact the laptop manufacturer.
