I want to say thank you for a good laugh this morning Whoever set this up, didn't even bother hiding it.

Regardless if it's tech channels on youtube, or the website here, claiming that hwinfo is free is just hilarious to me.

When you get to the actual way to get it, you're met with a FREE TRIAL bait and switch it's disingenuous and undermines trust in all. you cannot say or advertise hwinfo as being free and not disclosing it's only temproarily free while simulatneously attaching it to a free trial of a totally unrealted program in order to get around saying it's free. Which is exactly what has happened here:

I find it interesting that a so caled free program isn't actually free. All i found on this site is that hwinfo cannot be obtained without also getting lansweeper which should have been stated on ithe main/home page of this site. Instead it's buried behind several pages younhave to navigate to, it is only when the person who just wants hwinfo gets to this page https://www.lansweeper.com/lp/it-visibility/ do they finally get told it's a trial and they cannot just get hwinfo and doing so requires an additional unknown program as well as signing up to what eventually is going to charge them for what is supposed to be a free program. I love the whole you're getting hwinfo free, we'ree just charging you for lansweeper. This legitimately made me laugh but apparently if people didn't fall into this trap, then this site wouldn't be pulling that.

All I can say is that this is one of the laziest bait and switch jobs I've ever seen (And I've seen a lot) but hey if people fall for it I guess that's on them..good on you..I just wont be falling for it. I do however always leave a way to know if a company is being legitimate which I will leave you with this

Lets face is, if hwinfo really can be downloaded free and by itself, then there would be a clickable option on this site that says DOWNLOAD HWINFO, and when a person clicks the word download , they're asked where they want to save the file. What i just explained doesn't exist anywhere on this site.

Again it's your site, do what you want, but you really shouldn't be pulling this bad of a bait and switch. You should at least have some style so the person doesn't just have their time wasted like I did looking for a free program that doesn't exist. Also one final aspect, if this is free then why does anyone have to create an account in order to, download, install and use it?

Simple answer - Lansweeper is a different product that's promoted on the HWiNFO site. There is no other relation between them.
You really don't need to download Lansweeper nor anything else. The green Free Download button will download only HWiNFO and free.

I'm sorry but your reply has absolutely nothing to do with this topic so I've reported your reply as such

How instead of going back and forth, how about you yourself provide the actual download link itself to just hwinfo itself because I don't see it anywhere on this site without lansweeper or without having to sign up for a trial. Since you want to keep replying then I'll help you understand where this site has gone wrong

If it says free download then make sure
1. Free Download itself can actually be clicked
2. Have hwinfo be what gets downloaded
3. Only have hwinfo listed not this sourceforge and other unrelated words

Yes it is that simple and it is supposed to be that simple. Not sure why this site cannot follow that simple and basic formula...but it is what it is.
