64_444 Freezes Windows on sensor scan

I actually had HWiNFO64 running previously, but needed to reinstall Windows for other reasons. Now I can't get it to work properly. Whenever I try to view the sensors Windows just freezes and I have to power down/restart.

Motherboard is Gigabyte X99 Gaming G1 Wifi

Have you pressed the "Add Attachment" button too?
It's also better to compress it (ZIP, RAR, 7z, etc).
 
I compressed it and it worked. Previously I always saw the upload progress and then it just wasn't there.
 
Thanks, but according to that file it works - I can't see any crash.
Have you opened sensors while creating the Debug File? If not, please do. Then after freezing reboot the system and attach the new Debug File stored on your drive. I need it to capture the problem.
 
Thanks. Are there maybe any settings in the BIOS to enable Thermal Management device or something similar ?
If yes, please try to enable that and see if it works then. Let me know...

Excellent that worked!

It did crash once while scrolling down in the sensors, but it didn't freeze Windows and I was actually able to see the sensor window and values. I reloaded it and it seemed ok.

Uploading that bug report just in case. Is there a place to provide donations on your site btw?

It is crashing on its own now without me checking sensors, though Windows is not freezing. Also do new beta patches always incorporate prior fixes? In other words if I get a working beta, should I update to a later one when it is available? Thanks.

So now only HWiNFO crashes - is it an application crash ?
Do you maybe use any other system monitoring tool in parallel ?
Yes, all fixes are being carried forward, so you can upgrade to the latest build.

It is an application crash I'll get that information here briefly, it seems to take a couple minutes. I'm using HWiNFO to feed temps to Aquasuite for fan curves, but I'm not running any other monitoring software.

It would be great if you could reproduce it and create more Debug Files which capture it, since it's not yet very clear to me what happens there. Did it crash while monitoring only, or while you made changes to the sensor configuration ?
You might also try to do a "Reset Preferences" in HWiNFO to see if that maybe helps - however, you'll then loose your custom sensor settings.

Ok I reset it have the debug going and will post a debug if it crashes. It was crashing just while monitoring. Each time HWiNFO was just in the system tray. I had the settings set to launch and minimize the sensors though. Thanks.

Ok So I've run that one (445.2314) ~2.5 hrs with no crashes. Definitely seems to have resolved that issue.

Only really minor thing now is it doesn't seem to want to start automatically with Windows for me. I didn't have any forced restarts I just manually restarted Windows to test that piece of functionality and to make sure restarting didn't introduce any unknown issues. Thanks.


update: It did crash again. Debug even compressed was too large though, so deleted the debug and will attach a new one if it crashes again. Was browsing in Chrome at the time.

Try to disable the Autostart option, click OK, then enable it and click OK.
