Hello, someone has given me their laptop, running Vista, to fix, and  am currently testing various aspects of it to see if  I can determine what the cause of its misbehaviour is, enter HWinfo32. I notice in the sensor window there is a red YES under all the columns for Disk Failure. Does this mean the disk IS failing or does the YES mean there is a sensor present which detects when it is failing? I suspect it is the former, but thought it best to check here. Thank you :shy:

Yes, it means that one of the disk parameters has crossed the critical threshold, so the disk might be approaching a failure.
For more details check the main window - disk information - S.M.A.R.T. status.
