Fan controller support

I might be missing something so could someone clear this up for me. I'm looking for an alternative fan controller from Speedfan (doesn't work on my system for some reason, I'm thinking its Asus' own monitoring software) and saw online that hwinfo did support this option. BUT all of those reports were back in 2011 and on laptops so is it something not on desktop or something that's just been removed.

No, HWiNFO was never designed to be an universal fan controlling tool. In fact there are only very few exceptions where HWiNFO supports fan control.
For the rest of systems, there is no plan for such a feature.
Currently, Speedfan is the most universal fan controlling tool and no, it's not made by ASUS.

I didn't mean I thought it was made by Asus, I have an Asus one separately but thanks for clearing that up.
