Water Temperature Sensor and Monitoring Software

Hi Guys,

I am planning to get a water temperature sensor for my first water cooled build.

Either
Alphacool Eiszapfen temperature sensor G1/4 IG/IG mit AG Adapter - deep black.

or
Bitspower G1/4" Black Sparkle Temperature Sensor Stop Fitting

Do I need a particular software to use this?
I would like to use it with common monitoring software like HWinfo if that possible.

Im guessing...
After integrating sensor into loop, plugging the 2-pin connector into motherboard and Turning on the PC,
Windows should then detect the device and install the driver?
After all that, the Temperature Sensor should appear in HWinfo software?

TIA!!!

Depends on how the device is connected.
If it's plugged into a temperature sensor header on mainboard then it should be shown in HWiNFO.
If the device is using USB connection and proprietary protocol then it would require dedicated support in HWiNFO.

Thanks for replying.

The temperature sensor has a 2-pin connector that plugs to the thermal sensor header on my Strix z790 mainboard.
So assuming the sensor is operational, this should for sure appear on HWinfo?
