Which sensor is the right one? GPU Front End Clock / (Effective)?

Hello, Martin!

I'm not very familiar with AMD sensors, can you help me understand GPU Front End Clock and GPU Front End Clock (Effective) on graphics cards like 7900 XTX and similar. Which one shows the core clock speed? The usual standard "Core Clock" sensor like on Nvidia cards is Effective or NOT? Judging by user screenshots Effective shows about 80 MHz at idle both in Adrenalin and GPU-Z for example. While the usual GPU Front End Clock sensor is around 1300 MHz.

Both are "right", it depends on the point of view. The "standard" clock usually reflects the current target clock requested/set, while the effective one reflects the final (or average) clock during a given sampling period with respect to power management states.

Didn't make the question any easier, haha =)
What's the best one to add Eduard (FPS Monitor dev) to the GPU presets - GPU Clock in new build (we're trying to find the right solution)?
So that there are fewer questions about why your (FPSMon) sensor is not displaying correctly?

Thank you!
