FEATURE HWiNFO OSD

This is really neat. I like it a lot, but this really needs a lot more options for customization. Being able to place items more freely would be great. Also, I'd like to have bars for example for RAM usage or CPU usage.

Hi Brother @Martin . I hope all is well with you.

Quick question. Is there a way to add your own user logo in place of the Gigabyte Aorus? Have one MSI and two ASUS motherboards and would like to be able to do that if it is possible.

This is currently not possible but we're in talks with other companies about adding this...

The Independent Window is meant for such purpose, you can place it anywhere you like.
Hello, long time user first time poster. Is there some way to make the independent window always on top no matter what window is focused? That way I could arrange it anywhere I want, on my second monitor for example that is normally playing a video, would fit nicely in the corner there.

I previously used to use NZXT cam for this purpose but have now switched to HWiNFO as I believe it to be a superior product and offers far more detail. NZXT cam did come with this feature though. Eventually I plan to make some proper rainmeter integrations and I know this 'always on top' behavior is present in rainmeter. So if the answer is just that I need to use rainmeter then so be it! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a setting in the OSD configuration window.

That's a good idea, I'll put that on the list.

Hello,
the OSD overlay display is not running properly for me. When I activate it, it fades in briefly, after which HWinfo 8.04 crashes often!
Or when I exit the settings, the OSD overlay doesn't show up on the desktop at all, even though it's active!
If I activate independent window for the OSD instead of overlay, it runs without any problems. Unfortunately, the latter is annoying
on the desktop, so I prefer the overlay display, but unfortunately this doesn't work.
I actually wanted to buy the Pro version, but the product doesn't seem to be flawlessly developed. :(
I find the limit of 5 elements in the free version very little, you are forced to buy the Pro version. I think this would have
to be revised to 10, or to 6, 8!

The overlay is designed to show in 3D graphics windows (e.g. games) only. To show on normal desktop the Independent Window should be used.

ok I can understand, just not why the whole program crashes or stops responding when overlay is active??
With the OSD window variant, it is annoying that the window in the taskbar remains open all the time. Can't you donate a function to the program where
the OSD is displayed as a window on the desktop, but is still hidden in the taskbar? Many other hardware programs have such a function, this is what I miss so far!
Would be great if it is integrated.

I agree, it should not be crashing. Can you provide some more details about the crash? Does it always crash after enabling the OSD in overlay mode? Are there some details in the Event Viewer? Are you perhaps running Intel PresentMon along with HWiNFO?

I've been playing around trying to replace having a bunch of graph windows with the OSD (in windowed mode) to prevent display changes/etc from messing up the window ordering. I noticed it doesn't seem to be possible to set a fixed scale for graphs like you could in the old graph windows (ex. keeping the CPU temperature graph at a range of 20C to 100C). Is this something that's planned to be added?

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any more errors in the event viewer, because they clean up regularly. The error occurs sporadically, when overlay disappears,
only HWinfo stops responding. Then the program must be closed via the Win 11 Task Manager!
I tried the Overlay in 3D applications today, for example in the Game Valorant. It was only displayed there briefly at the start of the game, after which it
disappears there as well. Unfortunately, this behavior is not only the case on the desktop, but also in games!!
P.S. Since I don't know what PresentMon is, I probably shouldn't use it!

Been using the Pro version for the past few month and was wondering if you could set up the OSD Overlay to use the same location as the Independent Window location? The options to just use the corners in some of games I play aren't the best. If we could fine tune it that would be a great function. Thanks.

Great suggestion

Have observed that if I am using RTX HDR and enable hwinfo overlay, it dims the entire display thereby negating the effect of RTX HDR.

This will be added in the next (Beta) build.
