Shared memory is required for HWiNFO64 built in remote monitoring without third party app?

I'm a little confused on this because of this post: https://www.hwinfo.com/forum/threads/important-changes-to-hwinfo64-coming-soon.7092/post-30429

I run two PC's which drive two different displays using Synergy and VBAN for mouse/keyboard/audio support over network. I only use HWiNFO64 to monitor my main PC on my secondary PC's display with HWiNFO64's built in network monitoring. I don't use any 3rd party apps that require shared memory support.

I was under the impression that this should not require shared memory support. But if I disable shared memory support on my main PC, HWiNFO64's network monitoring stops updating data. Is this intended behavior?

That's correct, the Remote Sensor monitoring is also based on Shared Memory as an interface for exposing data outside HWiNFO.
Sorry if this wasn't mentioned among the limitations.
