Difference between "Core Utility" and "Total CPU Utility"

Hello Everyone,

Would love some help understanding the difference between "Core Utility" and "Total CPU Utility," as well as what "Core Utility" itself actually means. Of course one can expand the "Core Utility" tab to understand core utility on a core level, however what is the meaning of the singular value being reported under "Core Utility" as shown below?

"Core Utility" often times is reported as the same as the "Total CPU Utility" value, as shown above. However - depending on the specific load the system is under, these two values can be dramatically different. Which goes back to my question - what is the difference between the two?

Thank you in advance for any help :)
