I have this message in event viewer:

The HWiNFO Kernel Driver (v172) service failed to start due to the following error:
This driver has been blocked from loading

I can't figure out what to do to stop it from coming up, it seems to coincide with the usb connect/disconnect sound being randomly triggered on my computer.

As first, upgrade to the latest version of HWiNFO64.
If the message persists, open Command Prompt with administrative rights and type:

sc stop HWiNFO_172
sc delete HWiNFO_172

This is what I get:

C:\Windows\System32>sc stop HWiNFO_172
[SC] OpenService FAILED 1060:

The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

C:\Windows\System32>sc delete HWiNFO_172
[SC] OpenService FAILED 1060:

The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

I also cannot upgrade to the latest beta driver, the link just takes me to the regular download page for the non-beta version.
