HWiNFO64 CPU Die (Average) Spike?

I am seeing a very important factor in play when looking through the thread everyone has a 7000 series gpu also maybe this could be the culprit
No, that's not the case, people have different GPUs, in my case it is 3080. And there is probably 0 ways GPU could impact this.

Still happening after F21a bios update. Going to still ignore it until there's a fix. Martin is there a need for another debug file or na?

Hi everyone, I have been following this forum and its relieving to see that others have been having similar issues!

I have been having similar issues with the following set up:

MB: GB Aorus Elite Ax (BIOS: F6)
Processor: Ryzen 7 7800x3d
RAM: Vengeance DDR5 CL36 5600 MHz 16 GB x 2
GPU: ASRock Phantom RX 7900 XTX
Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix XT
PSU: CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
OS: Windows 11 Version 23H2 Build 22631

Would someone be able to confirm that this is indeed the same issue everyone else has been having? It seems to me that a lot of the readings, be it soc voltage, current, die average temp etc have maximums that are almost 2 times their temporal averages.

Thanks in advance!
i'm sad to report back that i'm seeing the same issue again on my end. exact same temp spike as yours too. i'd have to assume that if it was really reaching 133C it would start becoming unstable if not shut down completely or just throttle itself. I haven't noticed any loss in performance while gaming or doing other tasks so hopefully this is just a software bug that will be patched soon.

Adding my case to the list.

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650-P WIFI ATX AM5
Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
GPU: PowerColor Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24 GB
PSU: Deepcool PQ850M 850W

Similar spikes happening when gaming on the AVG reading, while the actual cores show nothing nearly as high:

Hello everyone,

first of all, sry for my bad Englisch. Hope you can understand me.

My System:

Win 11 Pro
Ryzen 7 7800x3d
MSI X670E Tomahawk Wifi (Bios Version 1.40)
Corsair vengance 32 GB 6000 CL 36 DDR 5 (XMP 3.0, not EXPO)
RX 7800 XT

My HWinfo (Version 7.68) shows me absolutly wrong values or Bedder say, HWinfo Double the following Values (sry forget to make a screenshot):
- CPU DIE (average) Temperature: Between 98 and 130 Degree
- CPU VDD Voltage (SFI3 TFN): over 2V
- CPU Soc Voltage (SFI3 TFN): 2,35 V instead of 1,175 V
- CPU Misc Voltage (SFI3 TFN): 2,18 V instead of 1,09 V
- Infinity Fabric Takt (FCLK): 3600 mhz instead of 1800 mhz
- Takt Memory-Controller (UCLK): 5600 mhz instead of 2800 mhz
- VDD (SWA) Voltage (DDR Ram): 1,6 V instead of 1,3 V

The MCLK is correct und the CPU DIE Temperature as well

So you See it must be wrong, because my CPU wouldnt be alive, if the Values are correkt.
The Values will only goes wrong, while i am Gaming and only in a one short Moment. The Time before this "peak" and after that, the Values are "stable"

In the Programm "HWmonitor" the Values are constantly correkt. No Peaks or something else. Only in HWinfo

Settings in Bios:
- i dont Use XMP Profile. I use "Memory try it" and i Set Ram Frequenzy at 5600 mts
- fix Soc Voltage at 1,175 V
- fix VDDP Voltage at 1,05 V
- fix FCLK at 1800 mhz
- fix UCLK = MLCK (2800 mhz)
- fix VDD (SWA) Voltage at 1,3 V

So what can i do?

So what can i do?

Right now, as far as I understand, there isn't anything to do at the moment. These values seem to be harmless and the issue is still pending with AMD (see Martin's last post). I'd suggest waiting until we hear back from Martin and for now just ignoring the issue. Like you and others have noted, if these values were real its likely the CPU would have caused BSOD so its seems like these readings are just false readings and are likely nothing to worry about.

Adding my case as well:

Win 11 Pro latest update
7800x3d
Crosshair X670E GENE
Teamgroup Tforce 8000C38 16GBX2
7900 XTX, 3090 and RX6600 ( I tried each individual and still get the same issue)

HWinfo 7.68 shows weird temp spike in PUBG at first then Palworld start having same issue
-CPU (Tctl/Tdie) : 85C ( only in PUBG). I tried assigned different cores and each one also reach 85C so not sure if it's HWINFO or the game.
- CPU Die (average): 91
- CPU VDDCR_VDD Voltage (SVI3 TFN): over 2v
- CPU VDDCR_SOC Voltage (SVI3 TFN): over 2v

The rest of the values are reportedly normal

I use WinUtil from ChristTitus and run Tweak ( Desktop profile) and that's it. I also overclock my memory to 8000, passed multiple hours or y-cruncher FFT, p95 large FFT and Karhu 37000%. I ran these back to back so if there is any instability, Karhu speed will drop. I also ran 100 loops 10GB linpackextreme, 90 cycles PCBDestroyer TM5 and 24cycles 1usmus TM5. CPU is -15 All cores, passed 2h small P95 small FFT AVX512 and SHA3 ( each core). I also ran Furmark + FCLk stress tests to make sure FCLK is stable.

My custom watercooling is decent imo. I also can move PC around to test in different ambient envrioment from 14C to 28C. So far no issue under any stress test such as OCCT, P95, 3Dmarks and some other games. But today in Palworld this happened so it's software i think.

Hello

My case:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
CPU Cooler: Thermalright true spirit 140 power
Thermal paste: Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut
Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL32 F5-6000J3238F16GX2-RS5W
GPU: XFX Merc 310 Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB
PSU: Corsair HX 1000W

Bios 7D75v1E3
Bios settings: Core performance boost - Disabled, XMP - Disabled.

I have random Cpu temperature spike when i play games. Normal Cpu temps in games in my pc are between 45 - 55 gr Celsius. I observe random temperature spike + 15 gr Celsius or more for 1 second and then temperature is normal for more than 30 second.

I see max voltage too high on:
CPU VDDCR_VDD Voltage (SVI3 TFN)
CPU VDDCR_SOC Voltage (SVI3 TFN)
CPU VDD_MISC Voltage (SVI3 TFN)

My case is solved with manual voltage in Bios
VDD Voltage -0,05v
SOC Voltage 1.1v
MISC Voltage 1.1v
Picture with higher voltage is on auto voltage settings in Bios
Picture with lower voltage is on manual voltage settings in Bios
What are minimum and maximum safe SOC Voltage for my setup ?
What is wrong with auto settings ?

So a friend told me that if there is other monitor software polling in the background when HWINFO is on then it it will spike. I do have AMD overlay and core temp running, may gonna try that later but anyone can confirm that would be great.

I agree, this must be something else. Also, when I restarted HWiNFO, some CPU related sensors where missing.

i have a 5900x and in hwinfo it occasionally will list my cpu die(average) and only that one at absurdly high temps. like 110 to 120C. this cannot be right as when i stress test for up to 30 minutes it maxes out around 85-90c for all cores. it does it randomly..i have yet to catch it as it does it once or twice a day..but it usually happens wether im gaming or not..but ive experienced no crashes or bottlenecks despite it reporting these high temps and its been going around a month now

5900X here and I have the same (and maybe more) abnormal reading(s) when gaming

5900X
Aorus Pro X570 Rev1.0 (F37g)
Nitro+ 7900XTX

PBO settings
77C platform thermal limit
PPT 125W
TDC 90A
EDC 110

These below are from the same ~95min gaming session
Abnormal readings in red boxes
PSU values do not show any power spike (like +100W than usual)
Highest-Average Power Out/In is perfectly normal as usual

Also... Should core states (residency) ever reach 100%? The type of load was gaming and at no time all core or no load at all.

EDC is actually normal (?)
